Miles Davis’ 1970 release, Bitches Brew, changed the course of modern music. In perhaps the most daring and brilliant of the many musical shifts that characterized the trumpet legend’s career, Miles assembled an explosive combination of the finest improvising musicians at that moment and gave them a fiercely modernist - and electric - directive that produced a jarring change from all that had preceded it. Now, 40 years later, some of the finest musicians in contemporary jazz are joining forces to both pay tribute to this musical moment as well as presenting some of their own original music. Bitches Brew Revisited features Graham Haynes, cornet; James Blood Ulmer, guitar; Marco Benevento, keyboards; DJ Logic, turntables/samples; Antoine Roney, bass clarinet/saxes; Melvin Gibbs, bass; Cindy Blackman, drums; and Adam Rudolph, percussion.
